Hello developers! I would like to thank you for this amazing simulation. As a theme park enthusiast playing various other theme park and ride simulations, I must say that this is the most realistic simulation I have seen so far!
As the ride control function is still in developement, I would love to see the following feature implemented in the future: As I own a ride control panel by Levs Inventions which works basically like a keyboard to control triggers of the ride simulations in RideSims and NoLimits, it would be incredible if you could add certain keys to trigger certain ride controls and give the option to customize/change the key triggers. That way I could map the triggers to the keys of my control panel and fully control the ride with it. This would make this simulation the most realistic possible!
Thank you very much for this simulation and keep up the amazing work! I really appreciate it!
Love this!! Was a huge fan of the ride back in the day! I am very grateful for going through all the hard work to make this. My only issue was that I had to "no-clip" some areas to get around. Had some glitches getting to the ride and exiting.
On a side note, can you add the version from Florida?!?! Not to be "that guy," but I think the one from Florida is way better and makes more sense. If you don't believe me, watch a video of it!
The glitches I found was I would walk to the doors to enter the next room, the screen would go black, I hear a "click sound" and then after a minute I'm back in front of the door where I was. And if I no-clip, and touch the same doors, it kicks me to a parallaxed background of a open field behind the building.
And after the ride is over, no gates open to allow me to pass through to exit. So again I had to no-clip to get to the other side.
If I am supposed to wait, maybe floating text that says "wait here" or "go here" to continue. Because I thought I waited enough time, maybe I didn't, I dunno. But I had no idea.
Also on a side note, I have no idea why, but inside the ride, I get about 300fps. But when I'm outside, my fps drops to around 75-100. There isn't much going on, so I have no idea why that is..
And I downloaded the Tower of Terror ride, it's not as polished as this (no options menu, no outside, lobby, or much of anything). But what file structure should it be in relation to this to travel from RR to ToT? Since I noticed you made this an option.
It's an animation, if you hear the sound it's the door opening and you get teleported on the other side. Couldn't animate it that much because it would have been tedious as most lights are baked (static). So when you no clip in them your character continues flying and then controls are resume. It should be patched (when noclip = ON, then disable these door animations).
For the gates, if you run into them they open, they have weight, could you confirm it doesn't work ?
For FPS issues, it should be the oposite lol, that's very very strange. I'm investigating.
And not sure to understand the last part with the ToT ?
I'm not at all experienced with linux, It launched easily with proton on Steamdeck so I assumed it would work on every linux !
It is more complicated than that to make a proper linux build with our project but I am going to check if 5.3.2 offers more simplicity than 4.26 and if it offers that, then I will work on a build and adapt incompatible elements if possible.
Edit:
In the meantime, I’ve disabled the Linux download option to avoid further confusion. I definitely wasn’t trying to mislead anyone. It's totally fine to give feedback, but there's a respectful way to do it, and that wasn't it.
I seriously doubt this version launches on steam deck either given that the error is showing a missing c redistributable. Saying it runs on Linux and they telling people to go run it in proton is inherently dishonest and a tactic that I cannot tolerate. Either you shipped a native binary or you didn't.
People will try it on proton if you just mark it windows thats why it exists.
Well it runs on Steamdeck and pretty well actually and not just for me.
But yeah you are right on that, instead I should have noted it while not specifying Itch.io to mark it as Linux, I thought it was meaning compatible with and not native. In fact when I used butler I could choose which channel to publish to. And a channel is made specifically for Linux native build. Meaning I could have a windows build marked compatible with Linux. But it's confusing... I am completely new to itch and well making games in general I am far from being a dev in the first place.
I tested and worked on a native build, turns out with fmod, some third party plugins etc, I have compatibility errors. I am actively working on replacements to make a native build. The one I have is working but sound is broken.
Thank you for spending the time to write your second message, I can understand that "it's a tactic you don't tolerate" but it was a guenine mistake when I was excited I could play this on deck.
This is an absolute MASTERPIECE! I used to go on holiday to Disneyland Paris regularly and even worked there for a while. This ride was my all-time favourite attraction at the resort, no less than 4-5 rides a day on RNRC where I could.
The nostalgia I got when opening this recreation was so incredible I was almost crying. The attention to detail is so perfect, I felt like I was back in the old Backlot area of the Studios park.
You should be incredibly proud of what you made here.
Looking forward to doing full "Operations" in future updates.
I can relate 100% to what you just wrote. During the last year before it closed, my sister and I wanted to ride all five soundtrackers. I think we ended up doing it like 6 or 7 times in a ROWhaha! Those were our last rides… and I didn’t even know it would be the last time.
I’m really glad you enjoyed the Unreal Engine side of things and Tommy’s 3D work too. It was pure luck that I stumbled on his project, and adapting it into something like this has been such a cool experience. I think we made a pretty solid duo ;)
Right now, my main focus is improving stability. Then I’ll move on to the full control systems when I get a bit more time!

Wow thanks for all those compliments!
This is a neat idea!
I'll have to see what I can do about it, and maybe buy such a controller to try directly on multiple control hardwares.
That way I can even imagine someone in your house operating and another person being the guest, that would be so much fun !
Thanks for the comment again :)
Bonjour !

Thank you so much... So glad this project gave you some nostalgia!
Yeah the Florida one have great story too, maybe some time, but not planned at all yet!
What types of glitch did you encountered?
Thank you for your reply..

Don't add the linux logo and say it works for linux under downloads when it's not even launching in wine or lutris. So dishonest.. Wasted my time. 😮💨
Just make a linux build already. Its button in unreal engine that's already there. For christ sake.
I'm not at all experienced with linux, It launched easily with proton on Steamdeck so I assumed it would work on every linux !
